Our new flax fibre eps epoxy boards are a next level technology that has the light weight of an epoxy but the response and feel of a more alive pu.

And not only are the boards lighter and more responsive, we've also achieved a substantial increase in both dent and snap resistance.

We've been testing these intensely for the last 12 months and jim and all our team riders are now only riding either the basalt or flax fibre epoxy boards

FLAX FIBRE

Flax is a natural fibre, that using a low-twist technology provides a combination of sustainability and performance not previously seen in composites. Compared to glass fibre composites, the flax offers reduced weight, improved environmental impact and safer handling. A big thing with the flax is that it's natural vibration damping characteristics work really well with the EPS blanks.

Jim has never been a fan of epoxy boards, but these are quite different. They sit over on a rail and run through the water like a PU. Overall the feel is much more like PU and they don't have that chattery, corky over buoyant feel of typical epoxies

EPS FOAM

The EPS foam formula that we manufacture ourselves right here in Indonesia is a key element in our basalt boards.

The buoyancy is almost identical to PU, giving the boards a more PU feeling than an epoxy and eliminating the need to adjust board volumes to compensate for the extra buoyancy that typical epoxy boards suffer from.

While it's still lighter than PU, it's actually a lot tougher, and way more dent resistance than PU foam, so that the decks of the boards are holding up way better than PU.

CARBON ROD

All our basalt boards are stringerless and instead have a carbon rod that is routed into the deck after shaping, before the board is glassed. We have found that this gives the boards just the right amount of spring and flex.
